"Exploring the journey of milk from farm to factory — an inspiring visit to Dudhdhara Dairy Industries!" A group of 62 students from the Mechanical Engineering Department (Diploma and Degree) of UPL University visited Dhudhdhara Dairy, Bharuch, on 24th July 2025, in association with ISHRAE – Bharuch Sub Chapter. Students observed key dairy processes including milk pasteurisation, curd fermentation, paneer preparation, and ghee production. The pasteurisation process involved heating milk to 72°C for 15 seconds and then cooling it rapidly. Curd was formed by fermentation using lactic cultures. Paneer was made by coagulating hot milk with citric acid, while ghee was prepared by slow heating of butter to remove moisture. The visit provided insights into thermal systems, hygiene practices, and automation in dairy industries. It was a valuable learning experience linking mechanical engineering with food processing applications.
