UPL University of Sustainable Technology has been established by inclusion in the Schedule vide Section 3 (8) of Gujarat Private University Act 2009 (amended by Gujarat Act No.15 of 2021) which came into force on 1st June 2021, vide Notification No. GH/SH/81/EPU/ 2020/10012020/KH-I dated 2/6/2021 of Government of Gujarat. It is empowered to confer degrees under Section 22 of UGC Act 1956.
UPL University of Sustainable Technology has been established by Ankleshwar Rotary Education Society (ARES) to place Gujarat and India at one of the best education places of the World. The journey of UPL University of Sustainable Technology is started way back in 2011 with the establishment of Shroff S.R.Rotary Institute of Chemical Technology (SRICT) conducting UG (B.E.) courses in engineering in affiliation with GTU and approval of AICTE, New Delhi.
Joining SRICT, to pursue my Engineering degree has definitely proved to be very helpful and fruitful in shaping a bright future ahead. Right from the faculty to the Training and Placement Cell, all the staff has played an important role in grooming the students, & the efforts have been commendable .Expert sessions by Industry professionals make the students familiar with the latest trends. Training for improving Soft Skills and overall personality development has definitely helped all the students to get successful placement in their dream industry. We were always encouraged to participate in various technical events. The four years of engineering in this college has definitely been a golden period filled with very good life experiences.
Doing Engineering from SRICT has helped me sharpen my logical and critical thinking ability. It was not just about teaching but about student-teacher relationship. Small batches and personalised attention helped a lot. Apart from academics, I have also learned the skill to relish the subjects. These three years have made me push my boundaries to reach the next level. Now, I believe I am capable of doing any work I wish to because of the values instilled in me by UPLU like dedication, hard work and discipline.
“Learning by doing” is not just a slogan but is lived in SRICT, because it educates students in a creative way and encourages them to think out of the box. I am very glad to share a positive journey of doing Engineering at Shroff S R Institute of Chemical Technology. Here the atmosphere is full of motivation and innovation. All the faculties are very enthusiastic and always available to guide students. The Placement Cell has good connections with the industry leading to various opportunities of careers available to us. This helped me to get placed in Solvay Specialities India Private Limited and I’m grateful to this institute for giving me a brilliant breakthrough. UPLU has made the best efforts to provide all the facilities for their students that could help them achieve their dreams.
Immeasurable quantity of knowledge and values instilled in us by SRICT carved me into a better individual and helped me achieve my dream of getting placed in a company like BEIL. I am proud to be associated with such a prestigious university, where all the faculty members are very cooperative and they work on grooming our skills with their immense knowledge and incredible support. UPLU’s training & placement cell incorporates a very useful curriculum, the value of which is further enhanced through study material and guidance provided by the placement officer. Forever grateful to my University to have built in me the corporate sense, to be in the corporate world.
As a senior undergraduate student, the knowledge and thought processes that i have acquired at UPL University of Sustainable Technology force me to see the bigger picture and look beyond conventional boundaries. It not only provides an ample academic foundation but also helps students apply creative systems- thinking approaches and cutting edge technologies to real world sustainability problem. I believe, the University will continue to add skills to its students and serve outstanding engineers to stand in this competing environment.
