The Department of Microbiology was established in the year of 2023 under the SRICT
Institute of Science and Research on the footsteps of reputed and quality education
based institute SRICT. Department of Microbiology started with the under graduation
course in B.Sc. Microbiology Honors..
The Department of Microbiology at SRICT-ISR offers a comprehensive B.Sc. Microbiology
Honors program, designed in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP)
2020. This program aims to provide students with a strong foundation in microbiological
principles, theories, and practices, while fostering skills such as problem solving,
communication, and collaboration.
The program objectives are to provide students with a comprehensive understanding
of microbiological concepts, theories, and principles, develop practical skills
in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and data analysis, foster critical thinking,
problem-solving, and communication skills, and prepare students for careers in microbiology
and related fields, as well as for higher education and research.
Graduates of the B.Sc. Microbiology Honors program can pursue a wide range of career
opportunities, including Research and Development (R&D) in industries such as pharmaceuticals,
biotechnology, and environmental science, Quality Control and Assurance in industries
such as food, cosmetics, and healthcare, teaching and education in schools, colleges,
and universities, government jobs in departments such as public health, environmental
science, and forensic science, and higher education and research in microbiology
and related fields.
The program highlights include interdisciplinary learning, incorporating concepts
from biology, chemistry, and biochemistry, emphasis on hands-on training, laboratory
work, and project-based learning, opportunities for internships, research projects,
and industry collaborations, highly qualified faculty members with expertise in
various areas of microbiology, and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and equipment.
