The Department of Chemistry was established in 2018 under SRICT Institute of Science
and Research, building on the strong foundation of SRICT – a reputed institute known
for its commitment to quality education. The department began with a Postgraduate
program in Organic Chemistry (M.Sc.) and has consistently grown in stature. Following
a successful journey over the years, SRICT is now part of the UPL University of
Sustainable Technology, bringing together both SRICT and SRICT-ISR under a unified
academic umbrella.
The Department of Chemistry at SRICT-ISR offers a rigorous M.Sc. Chemistry program
with specialization in Organic Chemistry, designed to meet the evolving demands
of academic, industrial, and research sectors. The program aims to provide a deeper
understanding of advanced chemical principles, synthesis, analytical techniques,
and research methodology while fostering critical thinking, innovation, and sustainability.
The objectives of the M.Sc. Chemistry program are to deepen the students’ understanding
of core and advanced concepts in chemistry, enhance hands-on experience in laboratory
techniques, develop research aptitude and problem-solving abilities, and prepare
students for careers in industry, academia, research institutions, and public sectors.
Graduates of the M.Sc. Chemistry program can pursue diverse career opportunities
in Research and Development (R&D), Quality Control and Assurance, Process Chemistry,
Teaching, Regulatory Affairs, Public Sector Enterprises, and may also opt for doctoral
research (Ph.D.) in India or abroad. The program lays strong emphasis on industrial
relevance and sustainability.
