Engaging interactive session by Professors from Oxford University

On 4th September 2025, UPL University of Sustainable Development hosted an engaging interactive session for its faculty members, featuring distinguished experts Professor Siddharth Arora, Programme Director at the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development and faculty member at the University of Oxford, and Dr. Vaanathi Sundaresan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computational and Data sciences at IISc Bangalore. The session brought together faculty from diverse academic domains to participate in meaningful discussions around contemporary research challenges and the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing both teaching and research outcomes. Professor Siddharth Arora emphasized the need to foster deeper student insight by incorporating thought-provoking and reflective examination methods. He highlighted how such approaches can spark curiosity and promote critical thinking among students. Dr. Vaanathi Sundaresan shared valuable insights into computational methodologies and AI applications that span across a variety of research domains, including data science and healthcare. As a significant step toward international academic engagement, UPL University also launched a lecture series in collaboration with Oxford University, aimed at both students and faculty.
