Description

The Department of Chemistry, SRICT-ISR, successfully organized an Expert Lecture on Basic Laboratory and Industrial Safety on 30 December 2025 for B.Sc. Semester IV and VI and M.Sc. Semester IV students. The program was conducted in two sessions with the objective of enhancing students’ awareness of laboratory and industrial safety practices. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Ketan Gandhi, Research Scientist at MAX PRO (Maximum Profit), who has 25 years of professional experience in the field. During the session, Mr. Gandhi elaborated on daily safety protocols, the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency safety measures, and proper solvent handling and storage procedures followed in industrial environments. He also discussed safety preparedness during emergency situations, including chemical spills and fire hazards. The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions on career opportunities after B.Sc. and M.Sc., particularly in areas such as industrial safety, production, research and development (R&D), and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC). Mr. Gandhi further guided students on how to prepare themselves for industrial roles and effectively integrate into industrial setups such as the MAX PRO unit, thereby bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements.
