The Department of Microbiology, SRICT–Institute of Science & Research, UPL University of Sustainable Technology successfully organized an Expert Lecture on “Microbial Pigments: Emerging Natural Colorants for Industrial Applications.”
The session was specially organized for B.Sc. Microbiology Semester IV and VI students, with more than 100 students participating online and actively engaging in the lecture.
🎤 The expert talk provided valuable insights into biopigments, covering their industrial applications, research potential, sustainability aspects, and career opportunities. Students gained enhanced understanding of the role of microbial pigments as eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic colorants.

The Department of Microbiology, SRICT–Institute of Science & Research (ISR) successfully organized an Industrial Visit for B.Sc. Microbiology Semester-II students to The Bharuch District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd. (Dudhadhara Dairy), Bharuch, on 29-12-2025.
The visit proved to be highly scholarly and enlightening, offering students firsthand exposure to industrial dairy microbiology, quality control, and large-scale milk processing operations. Students learned how the union, established to strengthen milk distribution in the region, has grown significantly in both operations and membership over the years.
Dudhadhara Dairy’s commitment to fresh, hygienic, and safe dairy products was evident through its ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018 certifications, reflecting strict adherence to international quality and food safety standards. Rigorous testing at every stage—from milk procurement to final packaging—ensures superior product integrity.
The dairy produces a wide range of products including milk, ghee, buttermilk, curd, and paneer, utilizing advanced processing technologies such as pasteurizers, curd plants, ghee plants, and paneer plants, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and quality.

The program saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 50+ participants, reflecting strong interest in advanced statistical tools for scientific research.
An expert session on Plackett–Burman Design by Dr. Hiren Prajapati offered strong theoretical foundations along with practical insights, making the session highly interactive and impactful.
Another expert, Dr. Rupak Roy, delivered an insightful session on advanced optimization techniques, including Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Box–Behnken Design, complemented by hands-on demonstrations using Design-Expert software.
