The Department of Environmental Science & Technology was established in 2011 with the goal of advancing sustainability and environmental education and research. The department provides a wide range of academic programs, such as Diploma, BE, ME, PGD, and PhD, that are intended to give students the practical skills and scientific understanding needed to tackle environmental and sustainability concerns.

Modern labs at the department enable cutting-edge research and study in fields like soil, water, and air pollution, environmental monitoring, pollution control technologies, and environmental modelling. It gives researchers and students practical training with state-of-the-art environmental software, tools, and analytical methods.

The department is also actively engaged in consultancy services and research projects addressing real-world environmental issues. These activities enable the department to collaborate closely with industries, government agencies and other stakeholders to develop effective solutions for pollution control and environmental management. Research publications, patents, and grants from both governmental and non-governmental organizations are all actively pursued by departmental faculties and students

Furthermore, the department frequently hosts short-term training programs, seminars, workshops, and refresher courses in the field of environment & sustainability with the goal of improving technical proficiency and knowledge of regulatory staff, industry professionals, and environmental practitioners.

The department also encourages students and scholars to actively participate in national and international conferences, seminars, and scientific forums, providing them with opportunities to present their research, interact with experts, and stay updated with the latest developments in environmental science and technology. Through such initiatives, the department strives to nurture competent environmental professionals and contribute meaningfully to sustainable development.

1. To excel our students in the field of environmental science and technology in order to provide economical, safe, and sustainable solutions of complex engineering problems pertaining to various environmental challenges.
2. To educate our students with such high standards of teaching and learning coupled with rich hands on experience and project based experience that they are recognized globally for their sound technical capabilities and professional ethics.
3. To prepare our students to demonstrate excellent abilities in interdisciplinary fields of environmental management such as waste water treatment, air pollution control and solid waste management.
4. To develop our students’ analytical skills and their ability to use modern engineering tools to critically evaluate and amalgamate various state of the art techniques of science and engineering to cater the need of sustainable development.
5. To ensure our students to bring synchronization between industry and institute, and also to develop and promote industry oriented research at institute.
