The Degree in Electrical Engineering, introduced in 2012, is designed to provide students with a strong foundation and comprehensive understanding of core electrical engineering domains, including Electrical Machines, Power System Protection, Electrical Instrumentation, and Power Electronics. Our department features state-of-the-art laboratories such as the Electrical Machines Lab, Power System Lab, High Voltage Lab, Embedded and Automation Lab where students gain valuable hands-on experience and practical exposure to real-world electrical systems and equipment. Aligned with our Vision and Mission, we deliver engaging and industry-relevant academic programs that equip students with essential fundamentals as well as knowledge of advanced and emerging technologies. Our goal is to develop technically competent, skilled, and future-ready electrical engineering professionals. To bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications, the department maintains an updated curriculum and promotes an interdisciplinary learning environment.

The Department of Electrical Engineering is widely recognized for its excellence in teaching and its commitment to fostering fundamental and applied research. The department follows a philosophy of delivering quality education through rigorous teaching–learning practices, practical exposure, and a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities, thereby helping students develop well-rounded professional and personal skills in the advanced field of Electrical Vehicles, Renewable Technologies, AI enabled smart grid, Instrumentation & Automation etc.

With a highly qualified and dedicated faculty, well-established laboratories, and access to modern software and hardware facilities, the department nurtures lifelong learning for undergraduate students. It also promotes advanced research producing capable researchers and innovators. The department actively undertakes funded research projects and provides consultancy services to industries in areas such as design, analysis, and testing.

To remain aligned with emerging technological trends and continuously improve academic standards, the department regularly organizes workshops, technical symposiums, training programs, industrial visits, and expert lectures by distinguished academicians, researchers, and industry professionals.
