Siemens CNC Turning Training Program
Description
The Siemens CNC Turning Training Program was successfully completed over a period of five days at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of UPL University of Sustainable Technology. The program was designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical exposure to CNC turning operations aligned with industry requirements. During the training, students gained a strong foundation in CNC turning machine fundamentals, axes nomenclature, and coordinate systems. Detailed sessions were conducted on G-code and M-code programming, program structure, and logical sequencing of machining operations. Emphasis was placed on manual programming for turning applications, including tool selection, offset setting, and machining cycles. Extensive hands-on practice using the SinuTrain enabled students to perform turning operations for various components in a virtual environment. The use of simulation helped students visualize tool paths, detect errors, and understand safe machining practices before actual machine operation. Overall, the five-day training significantly enhanced students’ technical competence, confidence in CNC turning programming, and readiness for industrial applications. The program effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skill
