The Department of Biotechnology was established in 2026 under the SRICT Institute
of Science and Research (SRICT-ISR) with the introduction of B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology
and M.Sc. Biotechnology programs. Designed according to NEP 2020, the department
provides strong theoretical knowledge along with practical laboratory training in
biotechnology and related sciences.
The programs focus on developing technical, analytical, problem-solving, and communication
skills through hands-on learning, research projects, internships, and industry exposure.
Students gain knowledge in biotechnology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry,
and bioinformatics with guidance from experienced faculty and modern laboratory
facilities.
Graduates can pursue careers in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, biotechnology industries,
research laboratories, quality control, education, and government sectors, along
with opportunities for higher education and research. Join us to build a successful
future in the rapidly growing field of biotechnology.

About Program:
M.Sc. Biotechnology is a one- year (after B.Sc. Hons.) or two-year (after B.Sc.)
postgraduate program that focuses on advanced studies in biological sciences and
modern technology. The course provides in-depth knowledge in areas such as molecular
biology, genetic engineering, microbiology, bioinformatics, immunology, and bioprocess
technology. It combines theoretical learning with practical laboratory training
to develop research, analytical, and technical skills.
The program offers wide career opportunities in pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology
industries, healthcare organizations, research laboratories, food processing industries,
and agricultural sectors. Graduates can work as research scientists, biotechnologists,
microbiologists, bioinformatics analysts, quality control officers, and laboratory
managers.
Students can also pursue higher studies like Ph.D. and research careers in universities,
government organizations, and national laboratories. With rapid advancements in
healthcare, vaccine development, drug discovery, and sustainable agriculture, biotechnology
professionals are in high demand both in India and abroad.
Overall, M.Sc. Biotechnology is an excellent choice for students interested in scientific
research, innovation, and technology-driven solutions for society and the environment.
