Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Technology In Pharmaceutical)

  • Pharmaceutical

The B.E. Chemical Technology (Pharmaceutical Technology) program at Shroff S.R. Rotary Institute of Chemical Technology (SRICT) is designed to prepare competent professionals for the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, healthcare, and allied process industries. The program integrates chemical engineering principles with pharmaceutical sciences to develop graduates capable of contributing to the design, development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulation of pharmaceutical products.

Aligned with the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP), the curriculum emphasizes outcome-based education, experiential learning, multidisciplinary knowledge, and industry-focused skill development. Students acquire a strong foundation in pharmaceutical chemistry, drug manufacturing processes, formulation technology, process engineering, quality control, regulatory compliance, validation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The program also incorporates emerging areas such as pharmaceutical process automation, Industry 4.0, process analytical technology (PAT), digitalisation, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The department provides a dynamic learning environment supported by modern laboratories, pilot-scale facilities, advanced analytical instruments, and simulation tools. Through practical training, laboratory experimentation, industrial projects, internships, and case studies, students gain valuable hands-on experience and industry-relevant competencies essential for the pharmaceutical sector.

Faculty members actively engage in research, consultancy, and collaborations with pharmaceutical industries and research organizations, exposing students to contemporary technologies, regulatory frameworks, and real-world industrial challenges. Regular industrial visits, expert lectures, workshops, seminars, and professional development activities further enhance students’ technical knowledge, innovation capabilities, leadership qualities, and ethical awareness.

With a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, sustainability, and patient-centric manufacturing, the B.E. Chemical Technology (Pharmaceutical Technology) program prepares graduates to become skilled engineers and future leaders capable of advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing, ensuring product quality, and contributing to the healthcare needs of society through safe, effective, and sustainable pharmaceutical solutions.
