Description

The Department of Computer Engineering, UPL University of Sustainable Technology, organized a Three-Day Advanced GLE (Guided Learning Experience) Program on “Emerging Technologies” from 11th to 13th August 2026 under the banner of IIC & IQAC, in collaboration with Edunet Foundation and IBM SkillsBuild. The program was designed to provide students with industry-oriented knowledge and practical exposure to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Agentic AI, Cybersecurity, IBM Cloud, and Quantum Computing. A total of around 90 final-year B.E. students from all engineering branches benefited from the program. The initiative provided students from different engineering disciplines with an opportunity to explore emerging technologies and understand their applications across various fields. The expert sessions were delivered by Mr. Pawan Singh, Senior AI/ML Engineer, who provided insightful knowledge on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, IBM SkillsBuild, IBM Granite Models, Large Language Models (LLMs), and other emerging AI technologies. Students also gained an understanding of Quantum Computing, including its basic concepts, principles, applications, and potential role in future technologies. The sessions focused on practical applications and industry requirements, enabling students to gain valuable insights into the rapidly evolving technology landscape. The program also provided students with exposure to IBM SkillsBuild and cloud-based AI platforms, helping them understand how modern AI and machine learning solutions can be developed and deployed using cloud infrastructure. Through practical demonstrations and expert guidance, participants explored the integration of AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies. As part of the program, students were also encouraged to complete industry-oriented certifications in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Prompt Engineering, which helped them strengthen their technical knowledge, gain practical exposure, and enhance their professional readiness. The program was coordinated by Mr. Awadh Kishor Singh and Ms. Aanal Patel, with Dr. Ashutosh Abhangi serving as the Spokesperson, under the guidance of Ms. Mital Patel, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, UPL University of Sustainable Technology.
