Day 5: NSS Camp
Description
On the fifth day of the NSS camp, September 21, 2024, the NSS volunteers organized a bunch of awareness programs for the residents of Thava village and local school students. A health awareness and hygiene program was conducted by Dr. Samira Shaikh, Gynecologist from Jaya Ben Mody Hospital, Ankleshwar specifically for the female students and female staff of the Gram Nirman Kelvani Mandal Ashram Shala in Thava. Over 400 girls participated in this event. Additionally, a free eye check-up camp was organized by Mr. Mahesh Patel, an ophthalmic assistant at Jaya Ben Mody Hospital, at the Primary Health Center in Thava village. NSS volunteers from UPL University also conducted a door-to-door campaign to raise awareness about eye donation. Furthermore, an awareness program on first aid was organized by Dr. Darshan, with assistance from Ms. Trupti, a staff nurse from Jaya Ben Mody Hospital, for the students of Eklavya High School in Thava, supported by NSS volunteers from UPL University. Mr. Priyank Jha and Mr. Amit Rathva also provided insights into the geriatric course for the students.
