VOIS for Emerging Technologies
The Department of Computer Engineering, UPL University of Sustainable Technology, organized a One-Day VOIS for Tech Program on “Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning” on 14th August 2026.
under the banner of IQAC and IIC, in collaboration with Edunet Foundation and VOIS. The program was conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM, with a total of 190 students participating.
The program featured an expert session by Mr. Pawan Singh, Senior AI/ML Engineer, who provided valuable insights into Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning. The session emphasized industry-oriented learning and practical applications, helping students understand the relevance of AI and ML in academic and professional domains.
As part of the program, students completed their onboarding on the VOIS for Tech portal, enabling them to access the available learning resources, expert-led sessions, mentored bootcamps, industry projects, and globally recognized certifications. This onboarding provided students with a structured pathway to continue their learning and develop practical skills in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The program was coordinated by Mr. Awadh Kishor Singh and Ms. Aanal Patel, with Dr. Ashutosh Abhangi serving as the Spokesperson, under the guidance of Ms. Mital Patel, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, UPL University of Sustainable Technology.

GLE Program on Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity
The Department of Computer Engineering, UPL University of Sustainable Technology organized a Three-Day GLE (Guided Learning Experience) Program on “Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity”
From 11th to 13th August 2026. A total of 230 students from different years of the B.E. program participated in the three-day program.
The program featured expert sessions by Mr. Pawan Singh, Senior AI/ML Engineer, who provided valuable insights into Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
The sessions focused on providing students with industry-oriented knowledge and practical exposure through the IBM SkillsBuild program. As part of the program, students also completed certifications in Introduction to AI & ML and Introduction to LLMs, enhancing their technical and professional skills.
The program was coordinated by Mr. Awadh Kishor Singh and Ms. Aanal Patel, with Dr. Ashutosh Abhangi serving as the Spokesperson, under the guidance of Ms. Mital Patel, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, UPL University of Sustainable Technology.

Advance Guided Learning Experience (Advance GLE) on Emerging Technologies
The Department of Computer Engineering, UPL University of Sustainable Technology, organized a Three-Day Advanced GLE (Guided Learning Experience) Program on “Emerging Technologies”
From 11th to 13th August 2026 under the banner of IIC & IQAC, in collaboration with Edunet Foundation and IBM SkillsBuild. The program was designed to provide students with industry-oriented knowledge and practical exposure to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Agentic AI, Cybersecurity, IBM Cloud, and Quantum Computing.
A total of around 90 final-year B.E. students from all engineering branches benefited from the program. The initiative provided students from different engineering disciplines with an opportunity to explore emerging technologies and understand their applications across various fields.
The expert sessions were delivered by Mr. Pawan Singh, Senior AI/ML Engineer, who provided insightful knowledge on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, IBM SkillsBuild, IBM Granite Models, Large Language Models (LLMs), and other emerging AI technologies. Students also gained an understanding of Quantum Computing, including its basic concepts, principles, applications, and potential role in future technologies. The sessions focused on practical applications and industry requirements, enabling students to gain valuable insights into the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
The program also provided students with exposure to IBM SkillsBuild and cloud-based AI platforms, helping them understand how modern AI and machine learning solutions can be developed and deployed using cloud infrastructure. Through practical demonstrations and expert guidance, participants explored the integration of AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies. As part of the program, students were also encouraged to complete industry-oriented certifications in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Prompt Engineering, which helped them strengthen their technical knowledge, gain practical exposure, and enhance their professional readiness.

One To One Meeting
A One-to-One Meeting was conducted by Dr. Shrikant J. Wagh Sir (Provost, UPL University) with the Diploma IT Semester 5 students of the Department of Information Technology.
The meeting was organized in the presence of HoD Ms. Mital Patel Ma’am and Class Coordinator Ms. Juhi Dadhalwala.
The meeting focused on improving students’ academic performance and addressing their backlog status. Students having backlog subjects were advised to prepare a separate study plan for clearing their pending papers. They were encouraged to increase their daily study hours and maintain consistency in their studies. Dr. Shrikant J. Wagh Sir explained how to prepare an effective daily and weekly study schedule and emphasized the importance of regular revision, time management, and solving previous years’ question papers. Students were motivated to remain disciplined, avoid procrastination, and focus on achieving better academic results. The students responded positively and assured that they would sincerely follow the guidance provided during the meeting.

" AI Pitch Desk CPmpetition"
The Departments of Computer Engineering And Information Technology and AI&DS
successfully organized the “𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻” on 20 July 2026. More than 40 students enthusiastically participated, presenting innovative ideas and entrepreneurial solutions powered by Artificial Intelligence.
The participants showcased a wide range of projects, including an AI-powered predictive safety ecosystem, an AI-based crop disease detection and health monitoring system, CarbonTrust—an AI and blockchain-enabled platform for transparent and secure carbon credit verification—and several other cutting-edge innovations.
The competition served as an excellent platform for students to exhibit their creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities. Students from B.E. Computer Engineering Semester 5 secured the top positions and were felicitated with cash awards and e-certificates in recognition of their exceptional performance.
The event was judged by Dr. Ashutosh Abhangi, Associate Prof., CO & IT , whose valuable feedback and expert guidance motivated and inspired the participants.

For their outstanding participation in the Startup Showdown 2026 – National Startup Pitching Competition, organized by Avantika University in association with Edugild Innovation Foundation, Unstop, and the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell).
The team AcoustiQ, comprising Mukund Patel, Amit Singh, and Tirth Dholakia, presented their innovative startup idea, EchoScan—an AI-powered acoustic inspection solution for the aerospace and aeronautics industry. The project leverages artificial intelligence and advanced acoustic analytics to enable non-destructive inspection, early defect detection, and enhanced safety and reliability of critical aerospace components.
Demonstrating exceptional innovation, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit, the team was shortlisted for the Final Presentation Round, where they presented their solution before a distinguished panel of industry experts and academic professionals.
Although the team did not secure a winning position, EchoScan was honored with a Special Mention Award Certificate by the Innovation Cell of Avantika University in recognition of its innovative approach, technical excellence, and significant potential for real-world impact.

The Department of Computer Engineering & Information Technology organized a hands-on workshop on “Research Paper Drafting and Presentation Building using LaTeX/Overleaf” on 23 April 2026.
The session was conducted by Dr. Jagruti Sarkhedi, Assistant Professor from the Computer Engineering Department under guidance of HOD Ms. Mital Patel.
Participants actively engaged in both online and offline modes, making the session highly interactive.The workshop focused on practical learning of LaTeX and Overleaf for academic writing and presentation creation.
Attendees developed valuable skills in preparing research papers, reports, and professional presentations using LaTeX tools.

Industrial Visit
An Industrial Visit was conducted for the Diploma 4th Semester Information technology students to Exotic Infotech, Bharuch on 19th March 2026.
to enhance their understanding of the IT industry. The purpose of the visit was to expose students to real-world applications of computer engineering concepts and to familiarize them with the professional work environment. During the session, the company experts shared insights into modern web and software development practices and demonstrated how different technologies are used to build real-time applications. Students were introduced to the basic structure of web applications, the role of frontend and backend technologies, and the importance of databases in software systems. The experts also shared guidance on developing industry-relevant projects and highlighted the importance of innovation, practical knowledge, and continuous skill development for building a successful career in the technology field. The visit proved to be an enriching experience that helped students connect their academic learning with industry practices.

Expert Lecture
The Computer Department organized an expert lecture on “Cloud Computing in AI World” on 18/03/2026 (Wednesday), delivered by Mr. Abdul Hamid Shaikh from Yashword Product Pvt. Ltd., Surat.
The lecture was conducted in two sessions and was attended by Dipploma sem 4 and 6 Students.
During the lecture, the expert explained how cloud platforms enable scalable AI solutions, data storage, and processing capabilities. He also discussed real-world applications, benefits, and the future scope of cloud computing in the field of artificial intelligence.
The session was highly informative and interactive, helping students understand current industry trends and enhance their technical knowledge. Students actively participated and clarified their doubts during the session.
Overall, the expert lecture was successful in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practices.

DDCET MOCKTEST
The DDCET Practice Test was conducted on 9 March 2026 for the students of Diploma 6th Semester Computer Engineering and Information Technology Students.
The purpose of the test was to help students prepare for the DDCET examination and understand the exam pattern. Students participated actively and attempted questions related to important subjects of the DDCET syllabus. The test helped students evaluate their preparation and improve time management during exams. Faculty members also guided students based on their performance for better preparation in the final examination.
