Celebrating Academic Excellence: Mr. Girish B Named NPTEL Discipline Star!

Huge congratulations to Mr. Girish B. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UPL University of Sustainable Technology for earning the prestigious national recognition of NPTEL Discipline Star for the Jan–Apr 2026 session! This elite honor, awarded by NPTEL and SWAYAM, celebrates learners who display relentless commitment to upskilling and mastering their technical domain, for certified courses in Mechanical discipline, more than 50 weeks of learning and achieving final scores in each subject more than 55.

SIEMENS CNC TURNING PROGRAM

The two-week Internship Training Program “SINUMERIK CNC - Turning Operation”

The two-week Internship Training Program from 1st June, titled “SINUMERIK CNC - Turning Operation” was successfully completed today at the "SIEMENS TRAINING Centre", Department of Mechanical Engineering of UPL University of Sustainable Technology. The program was organized for Semester 5 (D.E.) students with the objective of providing industry-oriented practical exposure in CNC machining. The training is conducted by Mr. Girish B, Mr. Ankit Solanki and Ms. Sandhya B N. Total 17 students participated in the training. During the training period, students were introduced to the fundamentals of CNC turning machines, machine components, axis nomenclature, tooling, and work-holding devices. Special emphasis was given to "SINUMERIK control programming", including basic G-codes and M-codes and understanding program structure and hands software learning.

One-day training program on "Industrial Steam Generation: Hazards, Risk Assessment and Advanced Control Strategies"

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at UPL University of Sustainable Technology successfully organized a high-impact, one-day training program on "Industrial Steam Generation: Hazards, Risk Assessment and Advanced Control Strategies" (ISG:HRA&ACS) on March 11, 2026. Conducted in hybrid mode, the program bridged the gap between academic expertise and industrial application, attracting 17 professional participants from various industries (14 offline and 3 online). The day was packed with five intensive technical sessions led by eminent speakers, covering: 🏗️ The Boiler: Fundamental concepts. 🔧 Operation & Maintenance: Solving core industrial problems. 🛡️ Safety & Case Studies: Critical considerations for coal-fired boilers. ⚠️ Hazards & Control: Advanced strategies for steam generation. 📜 Statutory Compliance: Navigating legal and safety regulations. We are proud to announce the successful completion of the SIEMENS CNC MILLING Training Program at the Siemens CNC Training Center, Department of Mechanical Engineering, UPL University of Sustainable Technology! On February 27, 2026, 19 dedicated students from our 8th Semester B.E. and 6th Semester D.E. programs wrapped up an intensive hands-on experience. This program wasn't just about theory—it was about preparing our students for the future of manufacturing. Key Highlights: Practical exposure to CNC Turning and Milling. Mastery of SINUMERIK programming, G-codes, and M-codes. Advanced simulation training using SinuTrain and MyVirtual Machine.
