AQUEST 2026, an Inter-College Quiz Competition, was successfully conducted today, 1st October 2026, at Seminar Hall 1, UPL University of Sustainable Technology, under the banner of the ISHRAE Students Chapter, Mechanical Engineering Department, in association with ISHRAE Bharuch Sub Chapter.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 6 teams – 2 teams each from GEC Bharuch, ITI Valia, and UPL University.
The event was graced by Mr. Hardik Mehta, President, ISHRAE Bharuch Sub Chapter, President Elect, and Mr. Ankit Makwana, Program Chair and Quiz Master. Mr. Ankit Makwana conducted the quiz successfully and engaged the participants through an energetic and competitive session.

On the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Day, 18th September 2026, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UPL University of Sustainable Technology organized Vishwakarma Pooja at the Mechanical Workshop, where faculty members, staff and students gathered to worship Lord Vishwakarma - the divine architect of machines and tools - and sought his blessings for safety, skill, success and prosperity, with the beautifully decorated workshop and collective prayers creating a truly spiritual and harmonious atmosphere.

GANESH-UTSAV 2026
The UPL University of Sustainable Technology celebrated Ganesh-Utsav 2026 with immense devotion, vibrant energy, and cultural harmony. Organised by UPL Hostel students, the festival commenced with the traditional Ganapati Sthapna, featuring puja, mantra chanting, and aarti joined by students, faculty members, and staff amidst a beautifully decorated campus. The celebrations continued with cultural grace as students performed devotional dances and songs in the presence of office bearers, faculty members, parents, and distinguished guests from the Rotary Club and UPL Ladies Club, concluding with dinner and prasad. The grand event drew to a heartfelt close with the Ganpati Visarjan ceremony, where students led a reverent immersion procession accompanied by energetic chants of "Ganpati Bappa Morya!", seeking Lord Ganesha’s blessings for wisdom, prosperity, and happiness.

From Concepts to Creation: Experiencing ANSA Decoglass Pvt. Ltd., Kharach, Kosamba!
The Mechanical Engineering Department, UPL University organized an industrial visit to ANSA Decoglass Pvt. Ltd., Kharach, Kosamba on 28 September 2026, with 38 B.E. & Diploma Engineering students.
Students gained practical exposure to the bottle decoration process, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), degreasing, lacquering, screen printing/HFS, sampling inspection, reliability testing, 100% sorting, statistical quality control, pre-dispatch inspection, palletization, and dispatch.
The visit provided valuable insight into manufacturing processes, quality assurance, inspection, and industrial practices, helping students connect classroom concepts with real-world applications.

Creativity Meets Sustainability: F.R.E.S.H. Poster Design Competition
Poster Design Competition – “F.R.E.S.H.” Poster Design Competition was organized on 10 September 2026 at UPL University of Sustainable Technology, by the *ISHRAE Bharuch Subchapter, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The competition was conducted as part of Refcold India 2026 and encouraged students to showcase their creativity and innovative ideas related to Food & Pharma sectors, Reliable Quality, Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Design and Hygienic Handling. The event provided an excellent platform for students to explore sustainability and future-oriented refrigeration technologies through creative poster designs'. Dr. Biswajit Nath and Mr. Dhananjay Chauhan were the jury members of the event.

Brakes India Pvt. Ltd.
The Mechanical Engineering Department of UPL University organized an industrial visit to Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., a prestigious organization of the TVS Group, on 08 September 2026. The visit was organized for the students of 5th Semester Diploma Mechanical Engineering and 3rd Semester B.E. Mechanical Engineering. The main objective of this industrial visit was to provide students with practical exposure to industrial operations and to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world manufacturing practices. The visit commenced with an informative training session addressed by Mr. Satish Makwana, who warmly welcomed the students and faculty members and provided valuable information about the company, its work culture, manufacturing processes, quality standards, industrial safety practices and the importance of precision in the automobile component manufacturing industry. The session helped students gain a better understanding of the practical applications of various mechanical engineering concepts.

Students of UPL University of Sustainable Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering, comprising 3rd Sem DE and 3rd Sem B.E. students, participated in an industrial visit to Dudhdhara Dairy, Bharuch, accompanied by Faculty Dr. Rahulkumar Painter and Staff Mr. Paresh Rana.
The visit was organized under the aegis of ISHRAE Bharuch Sub Chapter,with the objective of providing students with valuable industrial exposure and practical understanding of dairy processing operations. Students gained insights into industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems, dairy processing, plant utilities, production processes, equipment, quality control.

"Heat Exchangers: Working Principle"
The Mechanical Engineering Department of UPL University of Sustainable Technology, in association with the ISHRAE Bharuch Sub Chapter, successfully organized an expert lecture on "Heat Exchangers: Working Principle" on 20 July 2026.
The expert session was delivered by Mr. Mohit Vanpariya, Technical Director, PMP Climate Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara. He explained the working principles of shell & tube, plate, spiral, and other heat exchangers, highlighting their design considerations, industrial applications, and emerging technologies in heat transfer. The session provided students with valuable practical knowledge and industry-oriented insights.
The lecture was attended by students of 3rd Semester B.E., 3rd Semester Diploma Engineering (D.E.), 5th Semester B.E., and 5th Semester D.E., who actively participated in the interactive discussion and question-and-answer session.
The program was graced by Mr. Ankit Makwana, Program Chair, ISHRAE Bharuch Sub Chapter, as the Special Guest. The event was coordinated by Ms. Sandhya B. N. Shetty, Women Chair and Faculty Advisor, ISHRAE Student Chapter, whose efforts ensured the successful organization of the program. Overall, the expert lecture effectively bridged the gap between classroom learning and industrial applications in the field of heat transfer and HVAC engineering.

Industrial Visit
Godrej Industries Limited, Valia
An Industrial visits are a crucial part of technical education as they provide students direct exposure to industrial environments, processes and equipment. To achieve this objective, an industrial visit was organized for Diploma Sem-5,BE-5th and 3rd sem students to Godrej Industries Limited, Valia on 06/07/2026 and 07/07/2026. The visit was aimed at helping students to understand the practical application of subjects like Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Engineering and Plant Maintenance.visit coordinated under the aegis of ENERGY CLUB of Mechanical Engineering Department.
A total of 25 students along with four faculty members participated in the visit. Prior to entry, all students were briefed about the facility available related to engineering services, safety protocols, PPE requirements and plant discipline.

SIEMENS CNC TURNING PROGRAM
The two-week Internship Training Program “SINUMERIK CNC - Turning Operation”
The two-week Internship Training Program from 1st June, titled “SINUMERIK CNC - Turning Operation” was successfully completed today at the "SIEMENS TRAINING Centre", Department of Mechanical Engineering of UPL University of Sustainable Technology. The program was organized for Semester 5 (D.E.) students with the objective of providing industry-oriented practical exposure in CNC machining. The training is conducted by Mr. Girish B, Mr. Ankit Solanki and Ms. Sandhya B N. Total 17 students participated in the training.
During the training period, students were introduced to the fundamentals of CNC turning machines, machine components, axis nomenclature, tooling, and work-holding devices. Special emphasis was given to "SINUMERIK control programming", including basic G-codes and M-codes and understanding program structure and hands software learning.
