Blindfold Treasure Hunt – A Fun-Filled Adventure!

The Fusion Sports Club - Department of Chemical Engineering successfully organized a Blindfold Treasure Hunt on 8th July 2026.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 75 students, making it a vibrant and exciting experience. The objective of the event was to promote fun, healthy competition, teamwork, and interaction among students. Participants showcased their presence of mind, quick decision-making, coordination, and communication skills while enjoying the thrilling challenges of the treasure hunt. The event also served as an excellent platform for freshers to interact with their seniors, fostering stronger bonds and a sense of belonging within the department. The lively atmosphere and active participation created a refreshing break from academics, leaving everyone with memorable experiences. The program concluded successfully with the announcement of the winners, and the overwhelming response from participants reflected the event's success. Congratulations to all the winners and participants for making the event a grand success!

Industrial Visit to BEIL Infrastructure Limited, Ankleshwar

The Department of Chemical Engineering organized an industrial visit to BEIL Infrastructure Limited, Ankleshwar for Diploma Third Year Semester V students on 8th July 2026.

The visit provided students with valuable practical exposure to industrial operations, particularly in hazardous waste treatment, environmental management, and industrial safety practices. Students observed various waste treatment processes and gained firsthand knowledge of the safe handling, processing, treatment, and disposal of industrial waste. This industrial exposure enabled students to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world industrial practices, enhancing their understanding of sustainable waste management and environmental protection. The visit proved to be an enriching learning experience, inspiring students to appreciate the significance of responsible engineering practices in modern industries.

A Moment of Pride for the Department of Chemical Engineering!

We are delighted to share that the IIChE SRICT Student Chapter has been honoured with the Best Student Chapter Award – Ankleshwar Regional Centre for the third consecutive year.

The award was presented on 05/07/2026 during the Annual General Meeting by B. D. Dalwadi, Sandip Parekh, and other esteemed members. The award was proudly received on behalf of the chapter by the Chemical Engineering faculty members of UPL University of Sustainable Technology. This recognition reflects the chapter's continuous commitment to excellence in technical activities, student engagement, and professional development. Congratulations to all the students, faculty members, and everyone who contributed to this remarkable achievement!

Chem-E Quiz 2026

The Department of Chemical Engineering, under the banner of the IIChE Student Chapter and Institute Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized Chem-E Quiz 2026 on 03/07/2026.

The event provided an exciting platform for students to test their knowledge of chemical engineering concepts while fostering analytical thinking, teamwork, and healthy competition. The quiz covered a wide range of topics, including process calculations, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, reaction engineering, industrial safety, environmental engineering, and general chemistry. Students participated enthusiastically, showcasing their technical knowledge, quick thinking, and problem-solving abilities. The event concluded with the announcement of the winning teams and appreciation for all participants, making Chem-E Quiz 2026 a memorable and enriching learning experience.

Industrial visit

The Department of Chemical Engineering organized an industrial visit to Jayshree Aromatics, Ankleshwar for Diploma Second Year students on 6th January 2026.

During the visit, students gained valuable insights into the production of Benzyl Chloride, synthesized from toluene via chlorination. They were introduced to the chemistry and industrial significance of key unit processes such as acetylation, hydrogenation, and chlorination, strengthening their understanding of core chemical engineering concepts. Students also explored various sections of the facility, including the warehouse, utilities section, and analytical laboratory, which enhanced their awareness of real-time industrial operations and safety practices. The visit proved to be a highly enriching learning experience, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industrial applications.

One-to-One Academic Interaction

A One-to-One Meeting for Diploma Chemical Engineering Semester 4 students was held on 16th February 2026, in the presence of Dr Alok Gautam (Dean R&D, UPL University).

During the interaction, Dr Alok Gautam advised students to follow a disciplined academic routine by dedicating 35–50 hours per week to focused study. He encouraged students to aim for strong academic performance, maintain 100% attendance, and work consistently towards achieving zero backlogs. The session concluded with an open, interactive discussion in which students shared their concerns and received meaningful guidance on their academic progress and personal development. The meeting served as a motivating platform, encouraging students to stay focused and goal-oriented.
